Course Overview: Following the Model
Allah (SWT) says in the Quran: "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad ﷺ) you have a good example to
follow." Our Seerat-un-Nabi Studies Course at Usman Ibne Affan Online Quran
Academy is an immersive journey into the life of the Final Prophet ﷺ. Beyond just history, this
course is designed to instill a deep, personal love for the Prophet ﷺ and to provide a practical template
for living a virtuous life in the 21st century.
By studying his struggles, his triumphs, his dealings with enemies, and his kindness towards children and
the poor, we learn the essence of Islam. This course is suitable for young children who need heroes to look
up to, and for adults who seek to refine their character and leadership skills through the most perfect
example available to humanity.
Primary Learning Outcomes
We aim to create students who not only know the facts of his life but embody his character:
- Early Life and Meccan Phase: Understanding the early challenges, the first revelation, and the patience required during the years of persecution.
- Medinan Phase and Statehood: Exploring the establishment of the Medinan society, social justice, and the diplomacy of the Prophet ﷺ.
- Prophetic Manners (Shama'il): Analyzing the physical description and the daily habits of the Prophet ﷺ to emulate his aesthetic and ethic.
- Dealing with Adversity: Lessons from the battles (Ghazwat) and treaties (like Hudaybiyyah) that changed the course of world history.
- The Final Sermon (Khutba Hajjatul Wida): A deep dive into the universal human rights and ethics declared by the Prophet ﷺ at the end of his life.
- Embodying Sunnah: Identifying practical ways to apply the Prophet's ﷺ teachings in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
Our Teaching Methodology
We bring history to life with an engaging and reflective methodology:
Narrative Storytelling: Our teachers don't just read from books; they narrate the Seerat in
a compelling way that captures the imagination and moves the heart.
Analytical Discussion: We move beyond 'what' happened to 'why' it happened and 'what' it
means for us today. Critical thinking is encouraged to derive lessons for modern challenges.
Multimedia Integration: We use maps of ancient Arabia, genealogical charts, and
high-quality documentaries to provide a visual context to the geographical and tribal landscape.
Character Journaling: Students are encouraged to keep a journal of 'sunnahs' they are
trying to implement each week based on the lessons, turning academic knowledge into habitual practice.
