Course Overview: A Supportive Welcome
Embracing Islam is a momentous occasion, but the journey that follows can sometimes feel overwhelming. At
Usman Ibne Affan Online Quran Academy, we believe that no new Muslim (revert) should walk
this path alone. Our New Muslim Guidance Course is specifically designed to provide a warm,
non-judgmental, and intellectually rigorous introduction to the fundamentals of our faith.
Our dedicated mentors understand the challenges of lifestyle changes, family dynamics, and the initial
learning curve of prayer and Arabic. We offer a safe space where you can ask any question, clear any doubt,
and build the confidence to practice your faith with joy and sincerity. Our goal is to make your transition
smooth, ensuring that you build a sustainable and deep-rooted Islamic identity.
Primary Learning Outcomes
We focus on the essential aspects of being a Muslim, starting from the most critical priorities:
- The Core Beliefs (Iman): Deep understanding of the six pillars of faith, including the nature of Allah, the Prophets, and the Divine Books.
- Practical Salah (Prayer): Step-by-step guidance on how to perform Wudu (ablution) and the five daily prayers in Arabic.
- Islamic Morals (Akhluq): Exploring the character and manners of a Muslim towards family, neighbors, and society.
- Basic Quran Reading: Starting your journey with the Arabic script so you can eventually read the Quran independently.
- The Halal Lifestyle: Practical advice on dietary laws, modest clothing, and ethical financial transactions.
- Islamic History: A brief overview of the Prophet's (ﷺ) life and the spread of Islam to give context to your new faith.
Our Teaching Methodology
We prioritize empathy and gradual progression:
Mentorship approach: Your teacher acts more as a mentor than a lecturer. We focus on
building a relationship that allows for open communication and spiritual growth.
Phased Learning: We don't teach everything at once. We prioritize what you need to know
*today* to start practicing (like the basics of prayer) before moving to complex theology.
Contextualized Guidance: We discuss how Islamic principles apply to you in your specific
culture and location, ensuring your faith feels natural and integrated.
Resources and Community: We provide digital booklets, video tutorials, and links to
reputable revert support communities to ensure you have support outside of class hours.
